PITTSBURGH, PA (August 27, 2019) – Ference & Associates, an intellectual property law firm, announced today that it has secured judgments in excess of $175 million against online counterfeiters of the Negg® egg peeler, as well as permanent injunctive relief.  The plaintiff in these cases is Connecticut-based Airigan Solutions, LLC, whose owners invented the Negg®.  The counterfeit products were sold on the Alibaba, AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, and Wish e-commerce marketplaces.

In the most recent judgment, 38 defendants were enjoined from selling counterfeit versions of the Negg® on Amazon.com.  Judge Nora Barry Fischer of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania awarded the maximum of $2 million in statutory damages per defendant under Lanham Act, for a total damage award of $76 million.
